♦ Background:

John Michael (“Mike”) Healy founded Healy & Associates, LLC in 2001 after 29 years as a tax and accounting professional, 24 of which were spent as a principal of Goodman & McAllister, CPAs, Chartered, of Bethesda and Rockville, Maryland. He has a total of 38 years of experience in tax and accounting and is well-respected by both clients and other professional advisors alike for his integrity, warmth and well-seasoned competence.

As a business advisor, Mike is known for his objectivity and, at all times, putting his clients’ best interests first. He has the ability to reduce the most complex tax and financial issues into straight answers and always remembers that a client’s primary focus is his or her business and personal affairs, not taxes.

In addition to being the Managing Member of Healy & Associates, LLC, Mike oversees all aspects of client tax, accounting and financial services, and personally performs the final review of all tax returns, and most accounting and financial service engagements. Mike’s client base encompasses real estate owners, builders, syndicators and entrepreneurs, large to small medical practices, publishing companies and authors, manufacturers and custom machine shops, law firms, non-profit entities and private foundations, property management companies, investment firms, trusts, high net worth individuals and many other small privately-held businesses.

Mike's tax services for such clients include preparation of federal and multi-state corporate (C and S), partnership, fiduciary, deferred compensation, estate and gift, exempt organization and individual returns. His tax business services also include federal and state payroll, unemployment tax and information returns, and annual retirement plan administration. Additionally, he directs accounting and financial services including compilations and reviews, and financial, retirement and estate tax planning, as well as serving as trustee for client trusts.

Mike’s client base is literally nation and world-wide, with individual clients in California, the District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, South Carolina, Virginia, and England and Australia. Additionally, Healy & Associates, LLC regularly files multi-state tax returns in as many as half of the 50 United States.

♦ Education/Professional Memberships:

Mike is a fifth generation, native Washingtonian and second generation graduate of Gonzaga College High School in Washington, DC. He graduated from Wheeling Jesuit University, Wheeling, WV, in 1972 with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Accounting and received his Masters of Science in Taxation from the American University Kogod School of Business, in 1990. Mike is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants (MACPA).
